Disney on Ice
My mom came over for the weekend (my dad was in California for work) and treated us to Disney on Ice. What kids can go to anything Disney without Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse shirts? Not the Cain children! ;) So, we spent about an hour and made them. They turned out SO cute! Carson had a great time, waiting the whole show for Buzz and Woody. Finally, in the last 15 minutes of the show they came out. Up until that point we began to get a little worried. We had seats in a suite, so we were only sharing a bathroom with 8 other people, that was NICE. We could take Carson potty, walk Ila Kate around and not disturb anyone AND still watch the show. That's the way to go! We will definitely take them next year!

little tid bits...
Carson was sharing his glove with his baby sister. Let's see of this trend will continue 1 year from now.
Carson potty TRAINED!
A light bulb went off! Carson "decided" (seriously) that it was time to go! So, as his potty present we bought him a (new) glove! He's in the stage of not wanting to smile at the camera, so this is what I got! BASEBALL! BASEBALL!

a peek into our life...
What does a stay at home mom/photographer/busybody/crafter/queen b do when she's stuck at home...she takes photos and updates her blog, that's what she does!
recent church pictures.
Crafts:
Ila Kate's sterling silver baby bracelet I made for her. It looks darling on, I'll try to remind myself to take a picture with the darling little girl wearing it. Pictures don't do ANY justice, it's gorgeous on!
My mother's day gift: Fabric. I bought fabric so I could make Ila Kate and I matching outfits to wear on mothers day. Here's the skirt. I'm a tad bit proud.
I needed a wedding gift for a sweet bride to be from church, what does every new wife need? An apron! What man doesn't like to see his wife in an apron?!?!?!!!
And here she is as Carson say's : "WIZ!!!" (he means Liz)

Lowes and Painting with butter
This was Ila Kate's first of *many* trips to Lowes. It's the end of March and freezing tonight!
Carson helped me *paint* butter on the bread for dinner tonight. He thoroughly enjoyed it!
We sang "A helper I will be, a helper I will be, God loves a helper and a helper I will be!

I read this and wanted to post it on my blog for my benefit to read, then re-read. If you find it encoouraging, then that's good too.
"Raising boys
-set boundaries and always be consistent.
-communicate with them often. Show interest in what they are interested in.
-teach them social skills to carry on a balanced conversation.
-encourage them to ask questions about the other person.
-have them work. Teach them that everyone helps in running the house.
-always know their friends. Make your house the place they want to spend time.
-spend lots of time with them. Be apart of their lives. Make it exciting.
Give them your love - unconditionally. You might not like their behavior, but always love the boy."
