I have watched over and over again the Florida football star, Tim Tebow profess his faith in God over and over again on national television. The Fox Sports broadcaster stated "If you could only spend, 5, 10, 15 minutes with this young man, you'd be better off for it."
My heart has been pricked over and over again by this young man claiming to the world his savior is the Lord Jesus Christ.
When Carson was first born, I coudn't help but to begin dreaming about sitting in the stands of the baseball fields cheering him on. I thought about our family going up to Nolan Lake for a weekend of fishing. I dreamed about spending some time over on the east coast with my parents teaching him to surf. I wanted him to be the young man saying "Yes mam" and "Yes, sir!" I wanted him to learn the importance of holding the door for a lady and giving up his seat for the elderly. I had so many hopes and dreams for my newborn baby boy.
Even though those simple things are part of my hopes and dreams for nurturing and raising a sweet little boy, I'm learning they're bigger and brighter lessons to teach a child and that is to have a servant's heart. Tim Tebow is a great example of a young man with a servants heart. I can't help but to think about the lives he has touched by the example he is living. What a great ro-model for young boys and what an eye opener to parents raising young children. You don't know what I would give to sit down at a table over a meal and listen to Tebow's mother and father. I bet you anything, they themselves have a servants heart.
To my blogging friends and family who are mothers and fathers, you yourself are the living and most influential example in your child's life. I've posted a video below. My heart has been pricked today.
love you all.
