A Thought on Thursday

I just want to start out by saying "God is good!"

He is so big, so mighty, so holy, and He is so good.

What an impact He can make on your life if you know him! But my question to you is, how well do you know HIM? Or better yet, how well does he know you?
Too often we end up answering these questions with the below check list:
1. Sunday AM services  - "yes"
2. Sunday PM services - "yes"
3. Wednesday Bible study - "yes"
4. Occasional gospel meetings - "yes"
5. Pray at bedtime - "yes"
6. Pray before a meal - "yes"
7. Read your Bible on occasion - "yes"
8. Visit the sick - "yes"
9. Have someone in your home - "yes"
10. Prayed for others - "yes"

11. Loved your neighbor - "sometimes"
12. Forgave those who have hurt you - "sometimes"
13. Loved someone who didn't deserve it - "sometimes"
14. Have a personal relationship with God - "Have I had a what?"

Here's everything explained in a nut shell. God wants more from you. I'm not talking about the "going to church" and "I study my Bible" attitude. I'm speaking of the deep, personal relationship that God is desperately longing for, with you, right now. He's waiting for you to get beyond the thinking that "I go to church, I pray, therefore I'm a christian"   He wants to know you more than a service here or there, or a prayer at certain times of the day.
A good friend of Tyler's explained it to him like this. If you have a best friend, you probably know all about them and talk with them all the time. You probably spend as much time as you can with them because being with them makes you happy. Your best friend is probably the first person you talk to when you have found the right spouse and their even the first person you call when there is health issues in the family.

My friends, my family, my loved ones...

God wants to be your best friend. He wants to be the first person you contact for the good, the bad and the better. He wants you to depend on him for everything. The best part about having God as your best friend is that he's more dependable than anyone and he's always there waiting and wanting you to talk to him. He's always there, he's always around wanting to be a part of your life. Are you willing to let him know you?

You see, having a relationship with God is bigger and brighter than you can ever imagine. He's calling you to come and sit at his feet.

Matthew 7:23 say's "Depart from me, for I do not know you!"

How well does God know you?

Pray about this. God's front door is always open. He's inviting you in his house. You just have to walk up the steps to His front door.

About Me

This blog is the beginning of my journey to getting my body back in shape like it was the day I married. I created this blog while I was pregnant with my third child, dreaming of my favorite blue jeans and a belt.
