Book: Unselfish Children

I just got through reading this book and wanted to highly reccomend it to you. It not only gave me parenting advice on raising unselfish children, but even more so hit rock bottom on some materialism I need to reflect on and correct in my own personal life. You can find it here. Amazon
If you live in the same county as I do, you can also check it out from the library. I'll be returning it today~
Happy reading, bookworms!

books and trains

"I lift my arms to the sky so wide and pray out loud what I feel deep inside I LOVE YOU MY SAVIOR JESUS!"

These magical words are from the book "A Life God Rewards - For Little Ones by: Bruce Wilkinson. It's GREAT. You can find it here Amazon

Our bedtime routine with Carson is Goodnight Moon along with this one and it warms my heart to hear my son repeat these words from the book! Today I found Carson sitting in his room reading the book. It made me so happy I had to snap a picture to remember the joy for eternity!

Carson

This would be his 2nd favorite book, but let me tell you something significant about this book! My mother had picked it up for Carson sometime in his infant months. This became a boook he loved, i.e. it's a BASEBALL book. One afternoon I looked the entire house over for it and with no luck couldn't find it! I went on Amazon searching to purchase another one, to my suprise it's now no longer made and is a collecters item. FIGURES. At $25 I couldn't see the point in purchasing another one! Mysteriously, one day it showed up!!!! Hooray, we now have the book back and seriously I think I've read it to him over 25 times just in this week. I have heard over and over "Mommy, read. Mommy, read!" I can't say no to that!

And then there is Harold! Oh, how this little boy of ours loves his train set!

A Thought on Thursday

Taken from the book -Who Got Peanut Butter on My Daily Planner?- by: Cindy Dagnan

"Would an outsider watching you be able to figure out your priorities by observing how you spend your time? If asked about your priorities, most of us could verbalize the correct answer: God, spouse, family, church, work - but most of our schedules don't reflect this."

My question to you is this: Let's say Dateline wants to do a special show on priorities. Dateline then went into your home, car and work to set up a secret video camera, for 5 days, (Monday - Friday) then made a list # 1-5 of your priorities. What would Dateline put down for your # 1 priority? Better yet, would God even make the top 5 list?

If this is something that is of concern to you, then pray about it and make the change. Better now than never. Thankfully in God's eyes, we can start new and fresh every single day!

You scriptures to read:
2 Corinthians 4:18
Colossians 3:1-2

This blog is the beginning of my journey to getting my body back in shape like it was the day I married. I created this blog while I was pregnant with my third child, dreaming of my favorite blue jeans and a belt.
